EcoAlpha youth leaders were invited by Hennepin County to present their experiences and accomplishments from the Zero Waste Youth Ambassadors project. During the presentation, they shared how young people developed educational videos, created multilingual Zero Waste Quick Guides, and engaged community members at fairs and public events. They also explained how the project helped youth turn the 5Rs—Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Rot—into practical actions that families can incorporate into their daily lives. 

The presentation highlighted not only the project’s positive impact on the community but also the growth of EcoAlpha’s youth leaders. Through planning activities, developing educational materials, and speaking directly with the public, the ambassadors strengthened their leadership, communication, and teamwork skills. Being invited to share their success with Hennepin County was an important recognition of their efforts and demonstrated the meaningful role young people can play in reducing waste and building more sustainable communities.
