EcoAlpha’s Zero Waste Youth Ambassadors participated in the Hennepin County Fair to educate the public about practical ways to reduce waste in daily life. Through interactive conversations, youth ambassadors introduced community members to simple actions such as refusing unnecessary single-use items, reducing waste, reusing materials, recycling correctly, and composting when possible. The outreach helped make zero waste ideas easy to understand and connected environmental education with everyday choices.
At the fair, EcoAlpha used multilingual educational materials and Zero Waste Quick Guide pamphlets to reach Minnesotans from diverse ethnic backgrounds. The youth ambassadors also collected community feedback through surveys, helping EcoAlpha better understand public knowledge and needs related to waste reduction. EcoAlpha’s efforts received positive recognition from Hennepin County Commissioner Kevin Anderson and Green Partners Program representative Patience Caso, who praised the organization’s youth-led outreach, interactive activities, and commitment to serving diverse communities.
