EcoAlpha removed invasive plants along the shoreline of Lake Phalen. This project aimed to protect and restore the local ecosystem by removing plants that threaten the native plants and animals.
Lake Phalen is a treasured natural spot in the community, providing a home for many species and a place for people to enjoy. However, the shoreline had been affected by invasive plants, which needed to be removed.
EcoAlpha members identified and removed these invasive plants. EcoAlpha members learned how to recognize the invasive plants and safely remove them. They focused on a specific area of the shoreline where the invasive plants were growing.
During the event, EcoAlpha members worked hard to pull out and properly dispose of the invasive plants. This effort helped native plants start to grow back and made the area healthier.
The work done by EcoAlpha at Lake Phalen made a big difference in protecting the shoreline from invasive plants. It will have a lasting effect on the environment and help raise awareness about the importance of taking care of our natural spaces.
