EcoAlpha members recently presented to 2nd and 5th grade students at Minghua School, highlighting the essential role bees play in maintaining a healthy environment. The youth educators used age-appropriate language and engaging visuals to explain how bees help pollinate plants, support food production, and contribute to biodiversity. Students learned how bees are connected to many of the fruits and vegetables we eat and why their presence is critical to the ecosystem.
The presentation also touched on the growing challenges bees face, such as habitat loss and pesticide exposure. EcoAlpha members emphasized the importance of protecting pollinators and encouraged students to think about actions they and their families can take to help. The students showed great curiosity and asked thoughtful questions, demonstrating a clear interest in the topic. By the end of the session, many expressed a desire to learn more about bees and how they could contribute to helping the environment.
