EcoAlpha led a creative sustainability project focused on giving textiles a second life. Participants worked together to repair worn clothing and repurpose old fabrics into new, handcrafted items such as crocheted accessories, scrunchies, embroidered patches, and bean bags. The goal was to reduce textile waste by encouraging the mindset that clothing and materials can be reused in imaginative and functional ways, rather than discarded.
The finished creations will be reused by participants or donated to community organizations. Through this project, members gained hands-on experience in sewing, crocheting, and embroidery while also embracing environmental responsibility. More than just a craft activity, this initiative fostered teamwork, creativity, and a deeper commitment to sustainability—proving that youth-led action can make a meaningful difference, one stitch at a time.
